Celebrating excellence, service, and education: KLD celebrates its 4th founding anniversary

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) successfully celebrated its 4th founding anniversary on September 16, 2024.

With the theme “KLD@4: Celebrating Excellence, Service, and Education”, the event honored the significant achievements of the College from being a newly established higher educational institution (HEI) to becoming one of the performing HEIs in the province of Cavite.


The event kicked off with a celebratory walk or parade of administrators, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students wearing their respective colored shirts. One of the highlights was the street dance competition participated in by the students from each academic Institute, showcasing their talent and creativity. Other activities which added to the festive atmosphere were Laro ng Lahi, Awit Fest, fun booths, and games such as chess and basketball.


Looking back at KLD’s humble beginning, it is inspiring to witness its transformation into a thriving higher institution of learning. The celebration is not just a commemoration; it serves as a driving force for the institution to continue to be a lynchpin for achieving excellence and making significant contributions to the community it serves.

KLD marks blessing, inauguration of its buildings

KLD marked a significant milestone with the blessing and inauguration of Building 1 and 2 on September 20, 2024. The event was graced by Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga, Sangguniang Panglungsod members, city heads, esteemed guests, and KLD administrators.


It is a testament to KLD’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities that enhance the learning experience of its students. The buildings are equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, and other essential amenities.

During the inauguration ceremonies, Mayor Barzaga expressed gratitude for the support and dedication of everyone involved in the event. She emphasized the importance of these new facilities in elevating KLD’s academic standards and fostering a conducive learning environment.
With these buildings, the institution is poised to further its mission of providing quality education and
producing competent graduates who can contribute to society.

KLD employees dazzle at Gala Night 2024

Wearing their dazzling attire, KLD administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel transformed glamorously during the institutional Gala Night held on September 20, 2024. The event was a celebration of hard work, dedication, and the collective achievements of the KLD community.


The evening was filled with elegance, entertainment, and camaraderie. KLD employees were treated to a sumptuous dinner and live music performances. The highlight of the event was the awarding ceremony, where deserving employees were recognized for their exceptional performance and contributions to KLD.
The event was graced by the presence of Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga and her son, Thirdy Barzaga.


The Gala Night provided an opportunity for KLD employees to unwind, socialize, and appreciate the collective efforts that have made the institution thrive.

KLD ION holds its 1 st Capping, Pinning, Candle Lighting Ceremonies for level 2 nursing students

The KLD Institute of Nursing (ION) held its 1 st Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremonies for level 2 nursing students on September 13, 2024.


It was a solemn occasion that marked the formal entry of nursing students to the profession of nursing as they donned their nursing caps and pins.


The ceremony was also highlighted by the traditional candle-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the purity and compassion that nurses embody. The newly minted student nurses also took the Nightingale Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to ethical and compassionate care.


Dr. Fe Compas, Dean of ION, congratulated the student nurses and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of nursing practice. She underlined the importance of empathy, integrity, and lifelong learning in the profession.


KLD is proud of its student nurses and confident that they will make significant contributions to the healthcare industry.

Office of the Month

The Institute of Nursing (ION) has been named Office of the Month, thanks to the significant success of its recent Bloodletting Activity.


This collaborative effort, involving Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas, AiA Fitness Gym, New Bliss Dental Clinic, Knights of Columbus, La Immaculada Conception Council, District I-35 City of Dasmarinas, Cavite,” and Southern Luzon College, showcased the power of unity in addressing community needs.

The bloodletting activity was part of ION’s community service. By partnering with these esteemed organizations, ION was able to mobilize resources, maximize outreach, and ensure the smooth implementation of the event. It resulted in a substantial number of blood donations, which will undoubtedly benefit countless patients in need.


The collaborative approach exemplifies ION’s dedication to holistic student development. By fostering strong partnerships with community organizations, the ION is not only empowering its students but also making a positive impact on the community.

Employee of the Month

KLD is proud to announce Engr. Evander Llaneta as Employee of the Month.
Engr. Llaneta is the current Director for Physical Plant and Facilities Management Department and is the mastermind behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the institution’s
facilities.

With his unwavering dedication and technical expertise, he has significantly contributed to KLD’s administrative and academic operations. From infrastructure improvements to energy efficiency initiatives, his proactive approach has resulted in a more sustainable and conducive learning space for

KLD students and faculty. His commitment to KLD is evident in his tireless efforts to ensure the well- being of the campus community.

By overseeing the maintenance of facilities, implementing safety protocols, and responding to emergencies, he plays a crucial role in creating a secure and comfortable environment for everyone.
