𝗞𝗟𝗗, 𝗖𝘃𝗦𝗨 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗠𝗢𝗔 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas (KLD) and Cavite State University (CvSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on July 18, 2024, marking a significant step forward in their shared commitment to academic excellence and community engagement. This collaboration lies a shared vision to enhance the quality of education and broaden the horizons of learning opportunities for students in Cavite. Both CvSU and KLD recognize the immense value of cross- institutional cooperation in fostering a vibrant academic environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, promotes critical thinking and prepares students for success in a rapidly evolving world.

The MOA outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration in assisting one another to carry forward joint research and extension, create a program of exchange of their respective faculty members and students for instructional research and cultural purposes, explore potential of co-sponsoring international conferences and academic exchanges in areas of joint interests, explore the possibility of offering dual or joint- degree programs and exchange of educational materials, research publications and instructional information.

Ferrer, Head of Industry Relations, Internationalization and Global Partnership; Josephine C. Casugbo, Head of Public Affairs and Communication Unit;

From the CvSU, the university officials present were: Dr. Hernando D. Robles, CESO VI, President; Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Adora Joy T. Plete, Director for Public Affairs and Communication Office; and Prof. Ma. Veronica P. Peñaflorida, Director for International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office.

The partnership between CvSU and KLD is a testament to the unwavering commitment of both institutions to excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

KLD-IOM holds 3rd Pinning, Investiture, and Candle Lighting Ceremonies

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas-Institute of Midwifery (KLD-IOM) held its 3rd Pinning, Investiture, and Candle Lighting Ceremonies at the KLD Gymnasium on July 12, 2024.

The event was a momentous occasion for the first-year midwifery students, who were pinned with their white uniforms, and for the midwives, who recited the midwives’ oath and lit candles signifying their compassion, dedication, and service to the healthcare communities.

Hon. Lourdes Mangahas, a member of the PRC Board for Midwives, delivered an inspiring message to the midwifery students. She stressed the important role that midwives play in the healthcare system and encouraged them to strive to be the best midwives they can be.

Mayor Jenny Barzaga, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Dasmariñas were also in attendance to show their support for the KLD midwifery students and graduates.

KLD President/Administrator Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias and the faculty members of the Institute of Midwifery were also present to witness their students’ achievements.

This event was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of the midwifery students. It was also a reminder of the important role that midwives play in providing safe and effective healthcare services to the communities.

KLD reports high admission rates for Academic Year 2024-2025

KLD has announced impressive admission statistics for the upcoming Academic Year 2024-2025. Out of a total of 3,288 online applications received as of July 1, 2024, 2, 344 applicants successfully met the admission requirements and secured their preferred programs.

Based on the number of confirmed slots, the most sought-after programs were Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with 694, 675, and 464 confirmed slots respectively. These programs continue to be in high demand, reflecting the growing interest in these fields of study.

Other programs included Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, with 420 and 91 confirmed slots, respectively.

Overall, KLD has experienced a surge in applications, indicating a strong preference for the institution’s academic offerings and reputation for quality education. The high admission rates demonstrate the college’s ability to attract top-performing students and meet the increasing demand for higher education in the City of Dasmariñas.

The college attributes its success to a combination of factors, including its experienced faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and commitment to providing a holistic education. KLD is dedicated to nurturing the intellectual and personal growth of its students and preparing them for successful careers.

As the new academic year approaches, KLD is excited to welcome its incoming class and looks forward to another year of academic excellence and achievement.

Office of the Month

The Grounds, Maintenance and Improvement Unit (GMIU), composed of utility workers led by Engr. Evander Llaneta, has been awarded as the Office of the Month. This dedicated team plays a vital role in ensuring the physical well-being of the campus and creating a conducive learning environment for students and faculty.

The unit is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including landscaping, building maintenance, and infrastructure upkeep. Their tireless efforts can be seen throughout the college grounds, from the meticulously manicured lawns to the clean and functional classrooms.

It also plays a crucial role in maintaining the college’s infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring that buildings are in good repair, plumbing systems are functioning properly, and electrical systems are safe. Their prompt attention to maintenance issues helps to prevent disruptions to the academic and administrative activities of the college.

Their dedication to creating a beautiful and functional campus environment is an inspiration to the entire college community.

Staff of the Month

Jerickson Bautista, the Director for Center for Academic Programming and Implementation (CAPI), has been named the Staff of the Month for his outstanding contributions to the institution. His dedication and innovative approach to academic development have significantly impacted the college’s educational landscape.

Bautista’s most recent achievement lies in the creation of an updated course syllabus template and guidelines for accomplishing the revised Individual Faculty Workload (IFW) Forms. These invaluable resources have streamlined the academic processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to the highest educational standards.

The updated course syllabus template provides faculty members with a clear and comprehensive framework for designing their courses. It incorporates essential elements such as course background, program outcomes, course outcomes, learning plan, course requirements/outputs, references/educational resources, and flexible learning policies. By standardizing the syllabus format, Bautista has facilitated effective communication between faculty and students, enhancing the overall learning experience.

Moreover, the revised IFW guidelines have simplified the process of documenting faculty workload. The clear and concise instructions have enabled faculty members to accurately report their teaching responsibilities, research activities, and service commitments. This streamlined process has improved the efficiency of workload evaluation and resource allocation within the college.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Jerickson Bautista is named the Staff of the Month. His dedication, innovation, and commitment to academic excellence serve as an inspiration to his colleagues and the entire KLD academic community.
