KLD midwifery graduates achieve 87.04% passing rate in November 2024 MLE
The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) is beaming with pride as it celebrates the remarkable achievement of its Diploma in Midwifery program graduates, who have secured an impressive 87.04% passing rate in the November 2024 Midwives Licensure Examination (MLE).

Out of the 54 graduates, 47 successfully passed the examination, showcasing the quality of education and training provided by the Institute of Midwifery. The passing rate for the KLD graduates stands in stark contrast to the national average of 74.04%, further highlighting the exceptional performance of these aspiring midwives.
The City of Dasmariñas, headed by Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga, has also expressed its immense pride in the accomplishments of these graduates, recognizing the vital role they will play in the community’s healthcare system. The licensure examination results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and academic excellence of these individuals, who are now poised to embark on their journey of providing compassionate and skilled care to mothers and newborns.
This achievement is a significant milestone for the KLD and the Institute of Midwifery, as they
continue to set the benchmark for midwifery education in the region.
The State of the College Address 2024: A stronger KLD for Cong. Pidi!
The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) convened its community on November 5, 2024, for the much-anticipated State of the College Address, an annual tradition that provides a comprehensive overview of the institution’s progress, achievements, and forward-looking initiatives. The theme for this year’s event, “Ulat Para sa Kolehiyo II: Isang Mas Matatag na KLD, Para kay Cong. Pidi!,” underlined the College’s commitment to its students and faculty members and paid respect to the late Congressman Elpidio ‘Pidi’ Barzaga, who made KLD a reality.


In his address, College President/Administrator Juanito Cabanias proudly highlighted KLD’s remarkable academic accomplishments, noting that it has been dedicated in producing highly skilled and competent graduates. Further, he emphasized the institution’s research productivity, as evidenced by the impressive number of faculty members who had published groundbreaking studies which have garnered both local and international recognitions. Underscoring the importance of fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for its academic scholars, Dr. Cabanias emphasized the institution’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges and stressors faced by these students, many of whom come from economically-deprived backgrounds. Recognizing the diverse and complex obstacles confronting its student body, the college has implemented a multifaceted support system to empower its scholars. This includes enhanced mental health resources, targeted academic counseling, and a comprehensive financial assistance program, all of which are designed to ensure that no student is left behind, regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances.

He also pointed out the need to further strengthen its academic programs, enhance its research capabilities, and forge even stronger partnerships with local government and industry leaders. Echoing the late Congressman Pidi’s clear vision for KLD, Dr. Cabanias reaffirmed the College’s unwavering commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically-proficient, but also imbued with a deep sense of social responsibility and a steadfast determination to contribute to the betterment of their communities.
The event was attended by the Sangguniang Panlungsod members, faculty, staff, and the student body, all of whom gathered to bear witness to the institution’s remarkable achievements and the President’s captivating vision for the future of KLD.
KLD contingent takes flight at the Paruparu Festival 2024
The vibrant hues of butterfly wings and the rhythmic thrum of drums painted a vivid picture at this year’s Paruparu Festival. Among the many dazzling performances that graced the event, the KLD contingent truly took flight, captivating the hearts of the crowd with their electrifying street dance.




Adorned in vibrant costumes that mirrored the colorful wings of butterflies, KLD street dancers showcased their talent, grace, and passion, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Their intricate choreography and synchronized movements were a testament to countless hours of practice and dedication. The performance was more than just a dance routine; it was a visual and auditory feast that celebrated the city’s spirit and the boundless energy of its youth.


The Paruparu Festival, which happened on November 24, 2024, celebrated the city’s transformation and cultural heritage. As the city continues to evolve, so too does the Paruparu Festival.
The event serves as a platform to showcase the best of Dasmariñas, from its artistic talents to its unwavering community spirit. KLD’s participation exemplifies the city’s commitment to nurturing its youth and balancing the need to preserve its cultural roots with the demands of modernity and tourism.
CHED RQAT conducts visit for COPC application of KLD’s proposed BSLS program
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) conducted an evaluation visit for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) application of KLD on its proposed Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences (BSLS) program on November 28, 2024.


The CHED RQAT visiting entourage comprised the technical panel of evaluators for Biology, Dr. Cesar Demayo and Dr. Catherine Genevieve Lagunzad; CHED Central Office representative, Ms. Kripper Valmonte; and CHED-IV A Supervising Education Program Specialist, Dr. Judith Mary Ann Chan.
The program evaluation includes site visits and assessments of various aspects of the program such as the curriculum, administration, faculty, instructional facilities, laboratory, and equipment. Aside from these, the team also reviewed other areas such as research and community extension and required facilities for the BSLS program.

The following KLD officials participated in the evaluation visit, namely, Dr. Juanito Cabanias, KLD President/College Administrator; Dr. Regielene Gonzales, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Jerickson Bautista, Director for Center for Academic Programming and Implementation; and Domarth Ace Duque, Institute of Science (IoS) outgoing dean; Dr. Arianne Grace Revilla, IoS incoming dean; Patrique Erika Cancel, program director; and IoS faculty members. With the CHED’s approval of the application, KLD shall offer the BSLS program starting Academic Year 2025-2026. This signifies a significant milestone for KLD as it expands its academic offerings and provides students with more opportunities for career advancement in the growing field of life sciences. Additionally, the BSLS program is a good pre-medical program, providing students with a solid foundation in biology and other relevant sciences.
CPORM holds technical writing seminar for KLD non-teaching personnel
The Center for People Operations and Resource Management (CPORM) headed by Maria Archie Cabig held a technical writing seminar for KLD non-teaching personnel on November 15, 2024.


The seminar aimed to equip these employees with the essential skills required for effective technical communication in their daily work. This initiative is part of KLD’s staff development program, which recognizes the importance of technical writing skills in the modern workplace. It represents a strategic investment in the professional growth and development of the non-teaching staff, ensuring they have the tools to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the institution.
The technical writing seminar focused on imparting practical knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of technical documentation, including structure, style, formatting, and other key elements of effective technical writing.
It covered topics such as organizing content logically, using clear and concise language, applying appropriate formatting and layout, and ensuring overall readability and comprehension for the target audience. Participants also engaged in interactive exercises and workshops to practice applying these technical writing principles in real-world scenarios relevant to their work roles.
The seminar was made possible through the support of the Center for Knowledge Management headed by Cecilia Raquel Alvaran and the Publications unit led by Jhonies Saysi, who also served as the speaker of the said event.
Employee of the Month
The recent approval of KLD’s Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences (BSLS) program by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is a significant milestone for the institution. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of many individuals, particularly Ms. Patrique Erika Cancel, who spearheaded the program’s Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) application.

Ms. Cancel played a crucial role in ensuring the successful evaluation of the BSLS program by the CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT). Her contributions were instrumental in meeting the rigorous standards set by CHED.
As the program director, Ms. Cancel was responsible for overseeing various aspects of the BSLS program development, including curriculum design, faculty qualifications, laboratory setup, and resource allocation. She ensured that the program met the highest academic standards and would provide students with a strong foundation in the life sciences.
The BSLS program is poised to become a valuable asset to the city and the region. It will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of biological principles and prepare them for successful careers in various fields, including medicine, research, biotechnology, and environmental science.
Ms. Cancel’s contribution to this achievement is a testament to her dedication to her profession and her commitment to the success of KLD. Her efforts serve as an inspiration to all faculty members and a reminder of the vital role they play in shaping the future of our students.
Office of the Month
The Institute of Science (IoS) at Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) is proudly recognized as the Office of the Month for successfully securing the approval of KLD’s Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences (BSLS) program by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The journey to securing CHED’s approval for the BSLS program was a collaborative effort. The faculty members within the Institute, with their expertise in various scientific disciplines, played a crucial role in developing a robust and innovative curriculum for the BSLS program.
Their dedication was evident in their hands-on preparation for the CHED evaluation visit. They actively participated in the program development process, ensuring that all aspects of the program, from faculty qualifications and laboratory facilities to research and community engagement, met the rigorous standards set by CHED.
The successful application of the BSLS program is a proof to the IoS’s commitment to academic excellence and its vision to provide educational opportunities for the students. This achievement not only enhances KLD’s academic offerings but also strengthens the institution’s position as a leader in scientific education.
This recognition as the Office of the Month is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the institute’s hard work, dedication, and invaluable contribution to the success offering of the BSLS program.
