KLD reignites bayanihan spirit anew
The first Bayanihan Day kicked off in October, and the success of the movement inspired the entire KLD community. On December 18, 2023, KLD employees and students once again embodied a strong Bayanihan spirit as they showcased cooperation, collaboration, and unity in making the institution clean, safe, and conducive for learning and teaching.

Aimed at preparing KLD for the next semester, the Bayanihan Day also fosters unity and resilience – two important Filipino values that help in creating a sense of community. Through volunteerism, the true spirit of Bayanihan was reinforced. The time and effort spent by KLD student-volunteers, teachers, and non-teaching personnel to ensure that the physical space of the school is all set before the opening of classes is a testament of their selfless service and sense of compassion.
More than all the volunteer work, what exhibited beyond is that KLD employees as well as students were able to empower communal unity by helping each other for the betterment of KLD as a higher institution of learning.
Dr. Juanito Cabanias delivers lecture on leadership
Titled “Reflections and Inspirations of a Leader,” a special lecture was delivered by Dr. Juanito Cabanias, President of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas, for the management team of the institution in preparation for the upcoming semester, which happened on December 15, 2023 at the KLD AVR Building 1.

Dr. Cabanias is an expert in the field of research, teaching, planning and administration. He is a former professor at the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and led different departments and colleges in the same university. Likewise, he spearheaded various associations in the province of Cavite and presented some research works in both local and international conferences.
In his lecture, Dr. Cabanias shared some key thoughts on leadership with the KLD management team. He underscored that a leader shall uphold integrity, accountability, transparency, objectivity and meritocracy, lead like a lion that possesses courage, strength and decisiveness, and be exceptionally smart and highly intelligent. In addition, he mentioned that having shared vision, principles, and commitment is a key to creating a good team.

“No one is indispensable. Never abuse your power, twist the truth and compromise your integrity because of power,” said Dr. Cabanias during the session. He also added the repercussions of power tripping.
As the institution embarks on a new semester this coming 2024, Dr. Cabanias believes that KLD is a home where everyone is trustworthy. The key points presented during the special lecture are guiding principles for the management team toward building the foundation for KLD.
