KLD’S BS CIVIL ENGINEERING, FULL BLAST ON AY 2023-2024
The Commission on Higher Education approved and released the certification for the offering of the BS Civil Engineering of KLD, through the CEB Resolution No. 147-2023. The new program starts this AY 2023-2024 which expects 450 incoming 1st year students, distributed to ten sections. Passers of last year’s entrance examination have been prioritized to enroll, but available slots are to be filled by new BSCE applicants.

The Institute of Engineering, headed by Engr. Kim Carlo A. Lat, Dean, is now on full blast on the preparation for the program offering. The BS Civil Engineering is the 5th program being offered by KLD, alongside the BS Nursing as a new program offering for this school year.
𝐔𝐏𝐋𝐁 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐋𝐃 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

LOS BAÑOS, LAGUNA – A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Prof. Jose V. Camacho, PhD, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias, LPT, President of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas, on July 12, 2023.
The MOU signing aims to sustain and further intensify the research and linkages engagement of the faculty members.




Also, this partnership aims to develop the following collaborative activities in the academic areas of interest: exchange of faculty and researchers; exchange of students; conduct of collaborative research and extension projects; conduct of lectures, symposia, and capacity-building programs; exchange of academic information and materials, and promotion of other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.

The MOU Signing was also attended and witnessed by Dr. Ernesto L. Bastida Jr., LPT, Vice President for Research and Linkages, Prof. Andy Nestor Ryan Pazon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Inst. Rudy Bhonne de Lara, Director for Linkages and External Affairs, Inst. Noel A. Digma, Director for Research and Innovation, Inst. Cecille Alvaran, Director for Knowledge Management, Asst. Prof. Robbie Jan Vincent T. Buelo, MC, LPT, Head of Publications Unit, and Inst. Jerbert Abargos, Head of Internationalization and Global Relations, Mr. Leo Giuseppe Dinglasan, KLD Registrar III, and Mr. Kenneth Vincent Sarroca, Head of Information Technology Unit.
This MOU signing took place in the executive conference hall of the Office of the Chancellor in UPLB, Laguna. The ceremonial MOU signing also witnessed the partnership of UPLB with 2 other tertiary institutions: Laguna University and the University of Antique.
UPLB is the first tertiary institution partner of KLD.
KLD Freshmen participate in the PhilHealth registration, medical examination kick-off
The medical examination is required for incoming first-year students as part of their enrollment process. With the assistance of the City Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO), headed by Ms. Ma. Obelia Fontanilla, the PhilHealth E-Konsulta orientation and registration for the students was initiated on July 27, 2023. During the said activity, the first-year BS Nursing students were entertained and were able to secure their registration where PhilHealth shall shoulder the payment for medical examination.



In the coming weeks, the first-year students of BS Information Systems, BS Psychology and BS Midwifery have been scheduled for this process.
KLD approves the Research Manual

As KLD forays into a transformative institution that upholds the contribution of a knowledge-based economy and pushes forward to achieving the research-orientedness of the academic programs, as stipulated in the Vision and Mission of KLD, the approval of the KLD Research Manual is a momentous accomplishment for the entire community.
Dr. Ernesto L. Bastida Jr., Vice President for Research and Linkages, together with Inst. Rudy Bhonne de Lara, Director for Linkages and External Affairs, Inst. Noel A. Digma, Director for Research and Innovation, Inst. Cecille Racquel Alvaran, Director for Knowledge Management, Asst. Prof. Robbie Jan Vincent T. Buelo, MC, LPT, Head of Publications Unit, and Inst. Jerbert Abargos, Head of Internationalization and Global Relations, has accomplished the contents of the KLD Research Manual. This manual would greatly help the faculty and staff in pursuing further discovery of knowledge and strengthen their desire and interest for research engagements. Through the approval given by Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias, LPT, KLD President, this starts the implementation and serves as the basis for fulfilling one of the trifocal functions, especially for the faculty members.
A ceremonial signing shall be scheduled very soon.
Doc Johnny meets various sectors of KLD

Since the start of his appointment as the College President, Dr. Juanito O Cabanias, LPT, has dedicated his time and efforts to improving and uplifting the status, services, and activities within the college. Doc Johnny set meetings with administrators, faculty members, staff, and student leaders. These were conducted to strengthen the welfare and connections of these sectors. After these meetings, sectors appreciated these talks since they boosted their confidence and trust in the upcoming administration.

OFFICE OF THE MONTH – ISACEC

The past few months have been a very tedious but exciting one as the College has started accepting, processing, examining, and finalizing the list of upcoming students for this academic year. These tasks showcase the competence, and dedication of various employees. Let us give a big hand to our team under the Institute of Student Affairs, Character Education, and Citizenship, headed by Assoc. Prof. Jezreel del Espiritu Santo, Dean, together with the Head of Admissions, Ms. Jannel Alano, and the rest of ISACEC, Asst. Prof. Sheila Marie Adona, Asst. Prof. Fatima Estacion.


The Institute was also attending to various students’ concerns and conducted interventions and counseling that may help the welfare of the students. This month, let us congratulate their hard work and selfless dedication towards the improvements of the entire studentry.
